The Association of Jamaicans in Richmond, Inc. (AJR).

Purpose

• To maintain and preserve our Jamaican culture.
• To foster an atmosphere of camaraderie among Jamaicans and other Caribbean people.
• To foster an atmosphere of friendship and collaborative exchanges amongst the rich multi-cultural flavor of communities and community organizations in the greater Richmond area.
• To strengthen ties between Jamaica and the USA.

Our Activities

Our activities are intended to reflect our purposes. Some of the activities are:

• The observance and celebration of Jamaica's Anniversary of Independence.
• Family oriented social events, such as "Family Dinner Evenings".
• Finding ways to assist needy causes in Jamaica and here in our communities.
• Utilizing members skills and talents to organize plays and other cultural activities.
